What else does the PTA Do? (continued)
- Publish and distribute the Patriot Press, Harvest Park Middle School's bi-monthly newsletter.
- Harvest Park PTA Web site: Read the newsletter online, find out what the PTA is doing, how to get involved, download important forms, and much more.
- Principal's Coffee: Meet the Principal for coffee and conversation in a friendly and relaxed setting. Parents of Harvest Park students host the coffee and these informal meetings are scheduled up to three times a year. Our Principal encourages you to bring your questions and concerns, and everyone is welcome to attend.
- Holiday Food Baskets: Provide a complete Thanksgiving meal and other essentials for Harvest Park families in crisis.
- 8th Grade Promotion: Plans, organizes and funds the 8th grade promotion dance.
- Hospitality: Provide refreshments for PTA meetings, academic awards, school spirit functions and lunch for the guest speakers and/or assembly participants.
- Reflections Program: The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. It provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive recognition for original works of art inspired by a pre-selected theme, and increases community awareness on the importance of arts in education. Students may submit works of art in one of four areas: literature, musical composition, photography, or visual arts (which include art forms such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage).
- Fall & Spring Book Fair: Coordinate a fall and spring book fair with Scolastic for the Harvest Park students. All profits are used to purchase books for the classrooms and library.
